IN-Possessions

IN-Possessions is a series of video-based urban actions in which the Black body dialogues with and disrupts emblematic sites of the city, spaces charged with racist symbols and colonial memories.

Through movement and ritual presence, the body becomes possessed by multiple memories while simultaneously taking possession of the territory. In this passage, the Black body ceases to be a fixed identity and becomes plural: many bodies, many presences, many ways of inhabiting the city through revelation and rebellion.

In the city
Spirits take possession of a Black body
The possessed Black body begins to take possession of the city
The Black body ceases to be a body
The Black body ceases to be Black

And moves inhabiting many meanings,
And moves to not remain silent,
