Àkókò / Ayé-Òrún

“Everything happens at the same time.”
— Denise Ferreira da Silva —

There is no past or future: only bodies moving in a constant present.

From Paris, between fire and smoke, I dance alongside other Black women, while in Bogotá, elder women sing alabaos—songs that open portals to the spirits. The song crosses the sea; our bodies receive it.

Between Ayé (the Earth) and Òrún (the Sky) stretches an invisible bridge where memories and gestures recognize one another.

Here, the body is both territory and portal; Black spirituality manifests as a technology of connection between geographies, generations, and worlds.

Two places, one single gesture.
One same heartbeat across continents.
